IF YOU OR A LOVED ONE ARE A VICTIM OF DR. ROBERT ANDERSON’S SEXUAL ABUSE AT THE UNIVERSITY OF MICHIGAN, YOU MAY BE ABLE TO FILE A CIVIL LAWSUIT.
A Message From Marc Wites:
I will aggressively fight for the justice and compensation for your pain and suffering. I have the experience and necessary understanding to work with survivors of Dr. Anderson sexual abuse on a confidential basis. While the lawsuit cannot change the past, filing a civil lawsuit can help prevent sexual predators from hurting others in the future and also provide financial compensation.
I will only do what is in your best interest. I will fight for you for as long as it takes to get you the justice you deserve. I will not settle your case quickly just to get it over with, or drag it out or let it languish in our files. My goal is to move your case as quickly as possible, and fight for you as hard as possible, to get you the money you deserve.
Privacy and discretion will always be the top priority with your case. I will be the lead attorney, and point of contact on your case. While my team of lawyers and paralegals will assist me in your case, you will always have direct access to me, including my cell phone number so that you can speak with me at night and on the weekends. My goal is to make this legal experience as easy and convenient for you as possible.

$3.6M SETTLEMENT IN
CHILD SEXUAL ABUSE CASE
It all began during the 2004-2005 school year, when a Palm Beach County Elementary School Teacher abused 4 girls in his third-grade class, all of South American decent and from families that had only recently moved to the United States. The girls are known as the Janie Does.
Unbeknownst to the Janie Does or their parents, this was not the first time the teacher was accused of engaging in such horrific conduct. Two years earlier, during the 2002-2003 school year, another young – also girl of South American decent and with parents with limited English skills – had the courage to tell her parents that the teacher was abusing her in the same fashion. The next day after telling her parents, they all went to the School to report it. According to the family, the Vice-Principal, however, refused to believe them. He remained in the classroom and abused the Janie Does 2 years later.

Dr. Robert Anderson was a physician at The University of Michigan from 1968 to 2003. He died in 2008. Victims have reported that he sexually assaulted college athletes to whom he was supposed to give physical exams.
According to a press release issued by the University, the sexual abuse claims leveled at Anderson are “disturbing and very serious” and include allegations of unnecessary and inappropriate intimate exams by the doctor of male college athletes over a three-decade period. Since February 2020, more than 100 victims are reported to have contacted the University to tell the stories of their abuse at the hands of Dr. Anderson.
Dr. Anderson’s victims may include former Michigan football and hockey players, wrestlers, and other athletes. The University began investing Dr. Anderson after “after a former student athlete wrote to Athletic Director Warde Manuel in July 2018 to detail abuse during medical exams by Anderson in the early 1970s.” According to the University’s Statement, “during the course of the investigation, detectives interviewed dozens of people and identified several individuals who described incidents of sexual misconduct by Anderson.” The acts took place as far back as the 1970s, and even until the 1990s.
Victims may bring claims even though the abuse occurred many years ago. In 2018 Michigan passed a law that extends the time period for victims of sexual assault and abuse to bring legal claims.

Victims of sexual assault and abuse can sue for money damages, such as money for pain and suffering, medical expenses, and lost wages.
Maybe. If your case is not settled prior to filing a lawsuit, you likely will have to testify in the lawsuit. If you hire our law firm, we will do everything reasonably possible to prepare you for your testimony, and we will be sitting by your side during your testimony.
You can still bring a civil lawsuit for money damages. It is not necessary to report a crime to the police in order to bring a civil lawsuit for money damages.
If the plaintiff is a minor child, they will be identified in the lawsuit as “Janie Doe” or “Johnny Doe” to protect their identity. If the plaintiff is an adult, the adult plaintiff will most likely have to use their full and real name in all court proceedings.
